Enriching Every Second of Planet IX Playtime With Superfluid
As part of its latest expansion, Planet IX is introducing Astro Cap: an exchange service for the aforementioned Astro Gold and Astro Gold Lite currencies, which function as Super Tokens.
Astro Cap allows players to directly swap IXT (Planet IX’s native token) for Astro Gold, whereas players obtain Astro Gold Lite via prizes, airdrops, and pack drops from Gravity Grade. Although the way these two currencies are obtained is different, they both allow players to rent what’s known as “Contract Tiles.”
Contract Tiles provide several production benefits (e.g., increased facility and drone efficiency) for Planet IX’s Mission Control feature, and cost 1 Astro Gold/Gold Lite per month to own. Since Astro Gold and Astro Gold Lite are Super Tokens, players can rent these tiles (and thus their benefits) down to the second. In other words, although it may cost 1 Astro Gold/Gold Lite per month to rent a Contract Tile, players can spend these tokens by the second, minute, hour, or day to rent a Contract Tile for their preferred duration!
By integrating Super Token functionality into Astro Gold and Astro Gold Lite, Planet IX is giving players the freedom to own in-game assets on their terms. Not only is this a much more player-friendly approach to micropayments, but it enables more dynamic gameplay opportunities and provides players with a sustainable way to support their favorite games.
